RE: PS3 Flower Music - Direct Rip
Hey guys.
I don't know if any of you have played the 'Flower' game available to download on the ps3 'shop', but it's a fantastic game with an amazing sense of flight and freedom....anyways..
I %$@#ing want that music, ya know. I thought that since it's release wasn't like a normal game that there probably wont be a OST in the normal sense released for it...but then again..I did download a copy of World of Goo OST..and that was a Wiiware only release..so..who knows I guess.
But I'm thinking of doing a direct audio rip from the game..hopefully through my mates ps3 & optical to me lappy.
If it goes all well, I might release it here..only because..its nowhere else...so it wont be a 'standard' release.
It's chilled out music.
Off-topic, If you haven't all downloaded OCR Remix 0001-1001 & 1001-1900, get ur arse into gear..awesome music there...
Metal Gear Solid 2 Metal Gear May Cry (Remastered)....niceee
laterz.
MuniHOuseN
....
..anyone downloaded any nice piano recently?

RE: PS3 Flower Music - Direct Rip
Hey guys, in case anyone is interested in this game and its music, I will be releasing a SP/DIF OPTICAL 16/24bit 44Khz direct audio rip very soon.
After all recordings are completed, I will convert to MP3, hopefully with as little quality degradation as possible.
It's music, well, its really relaxed, tends to repeat abit but some of the sound effects of the rain and thunder in the background are awesome.
During the course of the recording, I've noticed some awesome things about the music in this game...it is totally queued by the user and is, IMO, directly related to the number of petals you have.
I have taken the majority of the recordings from the 'pause' screen...in game, when you put the controller down for, say, 30 thirty seconds it goes into a pause mode and slowly scrolls through locations in the current stage. Unfortunately, some of the locations have their own sound effects and can be annoying..but hey, they only last for 5 or so seconds.
No one has this...The OST is 'in talks' about being released...but after my experience with the music, I have to wonder how they would release it.
Aight, laterz,
Hava good1 guys 'n' gals.
cya.

RE: PS3 Flower Music - Direct Rip
OK guys, music is ripped

I post this to ask the following question

"Should I tag this so it is submitted to last.fm?"

I can find the name of the guy who composed this on the net.
But, since it technically isn't a real version I was wondering if I should
tag this at all.

If I was to tag it, I reckon it'd have to be;
Album Name: PS3 Flower Optical Audio Rip
Composer: PS3 Flower

(Something generic ya'know)

Song / File names use the following structure;
Stage 0# - Segment_##

Suggestions and comments appreciated.
cheers

Game Notes
--------------------
For those who haven’t played this PS3 game...Why not! : ) Flower is a game where you control them otion of a single or huge swarm of flower petals. You move the controller to guide the swarm and use any other button to act as the ‘wind’ to move about in the game environment.
Each stage has its own objectives that involve certain flowers. The main trust of the game, in my opinion, is the destruction of nature by us humans in the way we comport ourselves on this planet. This is nature taking back we ‘she’ has lost...ironically, the human is controlling..cyclical much..anyways..
The story begins in the fields, surrounded by nature working in harmony. As the stages progress we get closer and closer to human civilization and activity, which is reflected in the physical environment (ie: structure) and the sky and weather. The latter’s keep getting darker and gloomier as we move into the city.
=======================================================
Ripping the music
--------------------
Ripping this was a bitch as the music is queued by the user’s actions. Quite amazing really. It’s all down to timing and petal count though. Whilst I have noticed some instances of speed and height initiating music but cannot undertake a huge study of this because...
I don’t own a PS3. I used a friends console and setup and I think I’d pissed them off enough with time I spent recording this music. But it was probably just me thinking I was an annoyance.

A stage is mainly structured like this:
* Beginning Area - Stage Intro Music - Not pushing any buttons
* Segment Music - Music whilst playing in that section doing the objectives

“If a stage is just ONE big area with multiple objectives in it, then music will change, usually, after completing each objective.
For these stages, there is no below option.”

* Segment 2 Segment Transition Music - For stages which are connected via a valley or ravine, as is the case with stage three. (the one with the green leaf in the cave in the ravine) I only recorded one of these and I was lucky to get it....Stage-3_Segment_03 – Variation A and B are examples

The music was recorded in the following manner. When playing the game and putting the controller down for thirty seconds or more, the game will enter a ‘pause’ mode where it shows you places of the stage you’re currently in. Whilst in this mode, all ‘in-game’ sound effects disappear and you are left with the music. Having said that, the locations the pause mode shows have their own sound effects. The only really annoying one is the end-stage portal.
I can’t do much about those sound effects.
=======================================================
Disclaimer / STFU ‘You’re getting this for free’ Notice
--------------------
This isn’t a complete rip. I don’t own a PS3 and I just handed the hardware back to the owners. So the tracks with hum will just have to stay. I’ve included all rips so you can listen to them.
This rip represents a 80-90% of the music in the game. I rip this because I had the ability and the motivation to share the music that I enjoyed whilst playing the game and because I love to share and release. I am not an audio engineer. So any insults about audio quality will not be listen to and probably not understood. Constructive criticism is welcome, but pointless, since the project is over.
=======================================================
Copyright Crap
--------------------
If you are the creator of this music, congratulations, you have made a really nice piece of art here mate. You should be proud someone has gone to the effort of making it available for everyone else. Touching many people, now doesn’t that give a warm feeling far more satisfying that money. Once on the internet, your music will live forever. Once music enters a human, it becomes part of his/her experience with the game, you don’t own that. This rip, is for those people. Too much greed nowdays...Besides, this isn’t a 100% polished product anyways.
Peace out.

Since this isn’t an authorised rip or even a 100% accurate rip, I don’t feel right about labelling this like one would for a ripped CD. Feel free too. But I won’t be responsible for cluttering up lastFM more than it already is.
