VGMdb, the biggest videogame music database around, has a new awesome feature: a freedb server emulator which allows applications, such as Exact Audio Copy and any other software which implements support for the protocol, to query the database and retrieve track data. It’s also possible to take advantage of their tracklist translation system (which takes into account original Japanese track names) retrieving artist and track titles in different languages.
Just point your application to one of these addresses (note that if a specified language isn’t found, it’ll revert to the default one):
http://vgmdb.net:80/cddb [Default language]
http://vgmdb.net:80/cddb/en [English]
http://vgmdb.net:80/cddb/ja [Japanese]
http://vgmdb.net:80/cddb/ja-Latn [Romaji]
This definitely looks like a great service for anyone who wants to properly tag her/his videogame music collections. VGMdb is always updated with the last releases and has a large amount of rarities in its huge database, something which is very difficult (if not impossible) to find anywhere else. Future additions will even include track-by-track credits which is plain cool.
We highly encourage to fix track tags before releasing any torrent, even though, as of now, the service only supports applications that understand Shift-JIS encoding, such as Exact Audio Copy. Apparently software like Mp3tag and foobar2000 are not yet supported for this reason, although people at VGMdb are working on this. We’ll keep you updated and a guide on how to setup most tagging applications will be soon available in the Features section.
Meanwhile, if you need help in setting up EAC, take a look at this tutorial.

Looking forward mp3tag support, good work!
For mp3tag you can search by using
“Determine via Web search”
it can search for Artist, Album, Title, or any keyword.
but the results may not be the one you wanted
